9.2. Removal and installation of half shafts

GENERAL INFORMATION

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Lift a forward part of the car and install it on support. Remove the corresponding forward wheel.
2. Get to the check from a koronchaty nut and turn off a nut.
3. Remove a nut and a washer from a half shaft.
4. Get to the check (it is specified by an arrow) and turn off a koronchaty nut of the spherical hinge of fastening of the lower lever to a suspension bracket rack.
5. By means of the tool for division of spherical hinges divide and disconnect the spherical hinge.
6. Remove a protective guard of the engine if it is necessary.
7. By means of a lomik with the flat end wring out a half shaft from the transmission.
8. Close an opening in the transmission.
9. Get the external end of a half shaft from a nave and remove a half shaft from the car.
10. You watch that the car did not stand on wheels at the removed half shaft as hug bearings can be damaged. Do not allow a half shaft to hang freely under the car bottom – tie up it.
10. On some models the damper of vibrations can be established. If he acted, establish him on the same the place where it stood before.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Before installation of a half shaft check that the adjoining surfaces (are specified by shooters) a half shaft and the hug bearing were absolutely pure.
2. Grease with molybdenic lubricant of a vent of a half shaft and establish the external end of a half shaft in a nave. Establish a new washer and slightly put the fixing clamp. Grease with molybdenic lubricant of a vent of a half shaft and establish the external end of a half shaft in a nave. Establish a new washer and slightly put the fixing clamp.
3. Establish a new cutting lock ring on the internal end of a half shaft and establish a half shaft in differential.
4. Install the screw-driver or the similar tool on a rim on the internal hinge and, striking the screw-driver with the hammer, enter a half shaft into differential so that the lock ring recorded a half shaft. Pull for an external part of the hinge to check reliability of fastening.
5. Connect the spherical hinge of fastening of the lower lever to a suspension bracket rack, tighten a koronchaty nut and establish to the check.
6. Tighten a nut of fastening of a nave to a half shaft in steps till the required inhaling moment. Establish new to the check.
7. Establish a wheel and lower the car on the earth.
