4.1.3. Washing of the cooling system

GENERAL INFORMATION

Over time the cooling system can get littered. In this case, it needs to be washed out.

The radiator needs to be washed out separately from the engine.

For washing of a radiator disconnect the top and lower hoses of a radiator and wash out it the water from a hose directed to an inlet branch pipe of a radiator. If the radiator is littered very strongly, try to wash out it, having directed water to a final branch pipe.

Washing of the engine is described below.

1,4 AND 1,6 L ENGINES

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the thermostat and temporarily establish a thermostat cover into place.
2. Disconnect hoses from a radiator and direct water to the lower hose of a radiator.

1,8 AND 2,0 L ENGINES

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the thermostat and a cover.
2. Disconnect hoses from a radiator and direct water to the lower hose of a radiator.
